Peter Heywood, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology and Biochemistry, had his book The Life, Extinction, and Rebreeding of Quagga Zebras: Significance for Conservation, published by Cambridge University Press, has been awarded a Choice Award this year for Outstanding Academic Title 2023.

Ada Pariser, Family Medicine resident, was the e-poster winner in the Family Physician Research category at the FMX Annual Conference for "Evaluation of Care Cascade Outcomes for Patients with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus in a Specialist Supported Primary Care Model at a Community Health Center in Rhode Island." Dr. Pariser was appointed to the Commission on Health of the Public and Science at AAFP, a national position.

He also received $349,228 for “Malaria molecular surveillance capacity built to last in the DRC: Establishing the PaluSeq program, a subaward through the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, from the Billl and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Leslie Brick, Psychiatry and Human Behavior, received $19,030 for “COVID19 vaccine hesitancy among perinatal women at risk for health disparities,” a subaward through Butler Hospital from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. She also received $52,927 for “Idiographic Examination of Alcohol to Dampen Positive Emotions for Co-morbid Alcohol Use and PTSD,” a subaward through the University of Rhode Island from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
Christina Cuomo, Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, received $66,996 for “Rapid fungal identification and antifungal susceptibility testing through quantitative, multiplexed RNA detection,” a subaward through the Broad Institute from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
