Programs and Initiatives

A commitment to inclusion is more than just a plan. Our initiatives set us on a course to make the campus a better place for everyone.

The Initiative for Maximizing Student Development at Brown University (IMSD@Brown) provides graduate students with professional development opportunities, academic support, and a community which enhances success in their PhD programs and makes them highly competitive for the postdoctoral positions and scientific careers of their choice.
In partnership with the Leadership Alliance at Brown, The Warren Alpert Medical School faculty provide nine-week summer research opportunities for undergraduate students with an interest in life sciences.
The Early Identification Program (EIP) in Medicine for Tougaloo students started in 1976 as a route of admission to the medical school. Outstanding students committed to a career in medicine are invited to apply for this program. Students spend a semester at Brown before entering into the medical school.
