The Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs (ODMA) offers academic, professional, and personal support to students, faculty, and staff at the Warren Alpert Medical School.

The Office of Women in Medicine and Science (OWIMS) serves to network women in medicine and science at all levels.

Diversity

Multicultural perspectives are critical to the success of the Medical School. They enrich educational understanding, foster culturally appropriate patient care, and enhance trust in research.

We are a teaching and learning community that embraces diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. Diversity among faculty, staff, and students creates a greater number of role models, broadens perspectives, and combats negative and inappropriate stereotyping.

Institutional diversity enhances trust and communication, facilitates development of culturally appropriate clinical and research programs, and makes us better partners to the communities that we serve.
