In partnership with the School of Public Health, the Medical School will host the inaugural Black Men in White Coats Youth Summit on October 29. This all-day event will showcase diverse leadership in medicine and public health, and provide attendees with an introduction to a career in medicine. Students from third-grade through college, and their parents and caregivers are welcome.
The event includes a “How to Raise a Doctor” session for parents and guardians; a keynote address by Dr. Dale Okorodudu, founder of Black Men in White Coats; and talks by current medical students, resident physicians, and healthcare providers.
Black Men in White Coats works with medical schools across the country to inspire students interested in a career in medicine. They want young people of color to know, as Dr. Okorodudu says, “that they don’t need permission to be great.”
