Among the hardest-hit demographics during the Covid-19 pandemic has been nursing homes, or long-term care facilities, and the way the virus can spread unchecked in these facilities has led to a tightening of access for friends, family, and loved ones.
This isolation for long-term care residents can be difficult. But the effort, which collects and redistributes smartphones for isolated Covid-19 patients, had already been so successful in Rhode Island that the state's hospitals had reached their goals.
Marin, however, knew there were other affected groups who could benefit.
