MEDICINE@BROWN: Diversity administrator advocates inclusion as social responsibility

With a dentist father and a nurse mother, Tracey Guthrie always knew she'd have a career in medicine. But the independent-thinking Guthrie chose her own path, opting for psychiatry, and now serves as the program director in the Butler Hospital/Brown Psychiatry Residency Training Program as well as the assistant dean for diversity in the Division of Biology and Medicine at Brown University. It's there that Guthrie has served as an advocate for inclusion in medicine, advocating for "the well-being of our communities in the pursuit of health equity."
