'Healthcare in America' lecture series announces event dates

A lecture series set to discuss a wide range of topics on 'Healthcare in America' has announced its event dates for the upcoming fall season.

The series, led by faculty course director and former dean of the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University, will bring a discussion of healthcare topics at "the local, national, and systems level" through a series of topics in seven lectures.

Among the topics to be discussed include:

  • "The Birth of the Medical-Industrial Complex in America" by former Pfizer executive and author Mike Magee;
  • "Health Information Technology: Past, Present, and Future" by David Blumenthal, MD, PhD, and former CIO of Partners Healthcare System;
  • and "Lessons from Washington DC" by former Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin, MD.
