Serotonin Seekers is a beginner-friendly, inclusive running group offering an outlet for medical students to prioritize their wellness while meeting fellow students. They invite families to join them on a special walking route around the Medical School and Jewelry District to help get those endorphins flowing bright and early.
9:00 am - 10:00 am Diving Head First into Mental Health: The Bear in Mind Podcast
Location: Smith-Buonanno Hall, Room 106, 95 Cushing Street
Developed by the General Psychiatry Residency Program, the Bear in Mind podcast seeks to combat the abundance of misinformation on social media about mental health. In each episode, mental health providers come together to educate the community about pressing issues in psychiatry, including anxiety, substance use, suicide prevention, and more. Learn how Drs. Tracey Guthrie, Camila Cosmo, and colleagues started this mental health advocacy initiative as well as how they see it growing and evolving in the future.

Families will be split into three cohorts to experience “Medical School” by way of three interactive sessions: a building tour, anatomy lab, and clinical skills.

Learn about Brown’s cutting edge Alzheimer’s research with Ted Huey, the director of the Memory and Aging Program at Butler Hospital, an affiliate of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and a research associate in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior.

Take in the sights and sounds of the illuminated downtown, as well as visit many food, drink, and art vendors who line the streets along with WaterFire performers.
