John Dvorak MD’29 earned second place in the 2026 Gustaf Retzius Neuroanatomy Competition, an academic award focusing on normal human neuroanatomy from birth to adulthood, including the CNS, skull, and vascular system. The competition was held on April 1 with 19 contestants representing Brown.
Christopher I. Moore and Ahmed Abdelfattah, Neuroscience, have received $50,000 for the pilot project “Omega-3 Fatty Acids in Arrhythmic Remodeling of the Atria and Ventricles” from the Ocean State Research Institute through the National Institute of General Medical Sciences.
Nicola Neretti, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry, received $40,000 for the Minnesota Tissue Mapping Center for Senescent Cells, a subaward through the University of Minnesota from the National Institute on Aging.
