A celebration sponsored by the Brown Medical Alumni Association (BMAA).
Saturday, September 13, 2025, 2 p.m. ET
Olney-Margolies Athletic Center (OMAC) (229 Hope Street, Providence, RI 02906)
The Ceremony of Commitment to Medicine, informally known as the white coat ceremony, is a major milestone in a medical student’s academic journey. The annual event, our largest of the year, acknowledges the dedication that brings Brown’s newest students to Providence and welcomes them to the medical profession. Families and loved ones cheer as each student is called up to be “coated” and have a photo taken with the dean. This year’s Charles O. Cooke, MD Distinguished Visiting Lecture, delivered annually at the event, will be presented by Beata E. Seeber '95 MD'99.
Read more about the ceremony in this article, or view photos from last year.
This celebration is sponsored by the Brown Medical Alumni Association (BMAA).
Ceremony will be livestreamed.
**Please note, MD'29 students will be allotted five (5) tickets each to provide to their guests. The ceremony will be live streamed and recorded for future viewing.
